Hello and thank you for visiting my Pledgepage! My name is Nicole Porter and I am a senior at Ashford University pursing my Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration with minor emphasis in Psychology & Finance. In addition to being a student, working full time and being wife & mother, I have maintained a 3.75 average GPA, been on the Ashford's Dean’s List 3 consecutive years and a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society for nearly duration of my academic pursuit. With only 20 credit hours remaining until graduation, I was recently nominated by Golden Key to represent my school and community in an annual Global Medicine & Science Forum in Beijing, China summer of 2014 and I could not be more humbled and excited! Allow me to share more details with you!
My long-term career goal is to become a Holistic Mental Health & Wellness professional and teach individuals how to maintain balance in the mind, body & spirit and potentially find natural cures for those suffering from mental illness. Through this program, I will have the opportunity to join other students from around the world in a diverse and multi-cultural experience, but most importantly, I will have a chance to learn the fundamentals
of Chinese Medicine which is most intriguing to me! Such an opportunity occurs once in a lifetime and will not only increase my academic knowledge, but add invaluable experience to my career resume.
I am requesting support to help cover the cost of attendance to this forum. Participation depends on my ability to raise $7015.00 through scholarships, personal contributions and fundraising efforts. This amount includes: program tuition , roundtrip airfare, travel insurance, international passport and incidentals. To date, I have secured my nomination and placement in this program and raised $4900.00 which has been applied toward overall associated cost.
After applying donation amounts received, there remains a balance of $2115.00 that I am requesting assistance with.
